Chapter 5
Years Later
260 words
Five years after I solved the Nerushima nuclear wastewater crisis, many countries invited me to start a tourism project.
The main attraction:
Seeing what Nerushima’s people looked like now.
Some had lobster heads.
Some had squid legs.
Some had shapes even I could not name.

When we reached the Deep Mermaid District, a group of little mermaids surrounded us, begging for fairy tales.
“Once upon a time,” Lin Xuan appeared from the crowd, swishing his tail, “there was a brave little mermaid. To protect the safety of the ocean, she left her familiar home…”
He winked at us.
While the little mermaids were distracted, Lin Qi and I swam away.
Only Lin Xuan could tell one story for three days and three nights.
