Chapter 5
Two Women, One Scumbag
1,244 words
After throwing the drunk woman onto the bed, I held my phone and hired a divorce lawyer specializing in property division.
After all, eggs cannot all be placed in one basket.
One must leave oneself a way out.
Two-handed preparation.
After I explained my situation to the lawyer, the chat box displayed:
Typing…
For nearly five minutes.
Nothing.
I hated being left hanging.
“Is it difficult?”
This time, the lawyer replied within a minute.
He asked a soul-level question:
“Does your husband have a terminal case of love brain?”
I thought about it and nodded firmly.
“Yes. Late stage.”
The lawyer went silent again.
Much later, he sent advice.
“Miss, if I were you, I would not consider divorce.”
“With what you already have, even if the other woman asked me to take care of her postpartum recovery, I would go without hesitation and serve her like an empress.”
I calculated the property I had already received.
And the property still waiting to be divided.
His words made sense.
Also, Felix was very handsome.
His body was excellent.
He was completely built according to my aesthetic.
If I lost him, I might never find a second one.
So I decided to observe first.
The drunk woman woke near midnight.
I sat on the floor holding chips and pointed her toward the bathroom.
“Go remove your makeup. It’s too heavy. I’ll have nightmares.”
After she returned barefaced, the familiar feeling was gone.
So it was the styling.
“Want some?”
I offered an unopened bag of chips.
She hesitated a long time before taking it and sitting by the bed.
“Are you Felix Cheng’s girlfriend?”
I shook my head.
“No.”
Her eyes lit up.
“Then can you give him to me?”
“Why would I give you my husband?”
Her expression changed instantly.
One second joy.
Next second, tears.
“Sister.”
She threw aside the chips and grabbed my hand.
“Sister, please return Felix to me.”
“I love him. I’ve been miserable without him.”
“How can I live without him?”
For the sake of my ears, I stuffed a chilled grape into her mouth.
Manual mute.
“Why must you hang yourself on Felix’s tree? There is plenty of grass under heaven. Maybe the next one will be better.”
“Bullshit!”
I paused.
Why was she swearing?
For the next hour, she tortured my ears with stories of her scumbag ex-boyfriend.
The more I listened, the angrier I became.
Finally, I pulled her up.
“Where is that cheating ex of yours?”
“I’ll take you to deal with him.”
“Let him learn why flowers are red.”
Cheating was bad enough.
He had also spent her money.
Absolutely deserving of death.
At the bar, she held a bottle of alcohol she stole from somewhere, crying and pointing.
“Sister, it’s him!”
I looked at the person she pointed at.
For a moment, I did not know what to say.
What a coincidence.
He was also my ex-boyfriend.
“Little sister,” I said, “he looks too strong. I’m afraid we can’t beat him.”
“How about we go back and steal Felix instead?”
The girl swallowed.
“I think that method works.”
After all, this scumbag had been working out.
He was also a plaster-like pest with a filthy mouth.
Back then, to hide from him, my family had nearly moved cities.
He claimed he loved me deeply while holding mistresses in his arms.
If I had not been afraid of being stuck to again, I would have come back and stabbed him a few times.
“Not good. Run.”
I saw him looking our way.
I dragged my former rival toward the entrance as fast as possible.
Just as we reached the door, a voice sounded behind me.
“Le Yuyin?”
Finished.
Without turning around, I shouted,
“You recognized the wrong person!”
The moment I stepped out, my head hit a solid wall of muscle.
“Wife?”
Attacked from front and back.
Truly finished.
I slowly lifted my head and looked at Felix.
“Husband? Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be—”
Before I finished, a hand grabbed my wrist from behind.
“Yinyin, it really is you! I knew I didn’t mistake you.”
Felix stared at the man holding my hand.
His whole body entered defense mode, like a hedgehog suddenly raising every spine.
“Who are you?”
The ex looked at Felix too.
“Who are you?”
The girl looked between us.
“What is going on with you two?”
I gave up.
“How about we sit somewhere and talk?”
In the café next door, I was about to choose a table for four.
Felix pulled me to the largest table in the shop.
He sat down with me, then pointed at the corner opposite us.
“You two sit there.”
Both protested.
“Why?”
Felix held me protectively.
“Then there’s no need to talk.”
The ex looked at me and twisted closer.
“Yinyin, you finally came back.”
“Do you know how sad I’ve been all these days I couldn’t find you?”
“Didn’t you used to say you loved my abs, chest, and back muscles?”
“Want me to show you now?”
He even winked greasily.
I recoiled.
What disgusting thing is this?
“Are you sick? Can you act normal?”
“Wife…”
Felix sounded wronged.
I quickly looked at him.
“Yes, husband?”
“Wife, didn’t you say every part of me was built according to your taste?”
“You said you only wanted me for life.”
“Why did you say those things to him too?”
He looked pitiful enough to cry on the spot if I did not explain.
“No, no. He’s talking nonsense.”
“I was blind before.”
“From the day I met you, I only wanted you.”
“My husband is good everywhere.”
“What about me?” the ex insisted. “Were all our vows fake?”
“Wife…”
Felix started whining again.
“Wait,” another voice interrupted.
“So… we were both scammed by the same man?”
The girl with the extremely long reaction arc finally understood.
I hesitated.
Then slowly nodded.
“Currently, yes.”
Felix seemed to only now notice another woman was present.
He nearly jumped.
He circled me in his arms.
“Who are you?”
He suddenly stretched his neck and sniffed a few times.
Then looked at her with disgust.
“Sister, even if you wear the same perfume as my wife, it won’t work.”
“She won’t look at you more.”
“My wife belongs only to me.”
The girl was silent.
“Excuse me. I’m going to the restroom.”
Felix warned the ex,
“I advise you to give up. I am my wife’s favorite person.”
“She holds me every night. Without me, she can’t sleep.”
The ex snorted.
“When I was with Yinyin, she also said I was her favorite.”
“Wife calls me baby husband, kiss-kiss husband, favorite husband.”
The ex sneered.
“If I were with her now, she’d call me that too.”
Felix’s aura grew terrifying.
Just when I thought he would hit him, Felix suddenly stood.
“Come. Let’s go to the restroom together.”
The ex was silent.
“Are you sick? I’m not a girl, why would I—”
Then he met Felix’s contemptuous gaze.
“Fine. Together.”
I hurriedly stood, but Felix comforted me with his eyes.
“Don’t worry, wife.”
The girl sat beside me.
“Um, sister. Didn’t they say Felix was very manly and reliable?”
I looked at her curiously.
“Was he not manly when he was with you?”
She froze.
Then smiled awkwardly.
“You already know, right?”
“I’m not Felix’s ex-girlfriend.”
“I’m a part-time actress.”
I stared.
Guessing was one thing.
Hearing it from her was another.
I needed a moment.
