Chapter 2
My Husband’s True Form
584 words
Felix before marriage and Felix after marriage were two different species.
When he was not giving lectures or going to the company, he always appeared beside me the moment I tried to watch handsome men or beautiful women online to relieve writing stress.
As if he had installed a tracker.
“Wife, I’m going to start doing push-ups. Want to watch?”
“You can even sit on my back.”
Then he took off his T-shirt in front of me.
I nearly bled out through my nose.
I rushed over in three steps.
Double-door refrigerator, here I come.
That was still manageable.
But if I accidentally looked at a beautiful woman on the street for more than one minute, he could feel wronged for ages.
To confirm whether this was normal, I humbly asked my mother-in-law.
When she learned why I came, her eyes widened and her head shook like a rattle.
She grabbed my hand tightly, as if afraid I would run.
“Yinyin, you must not dislike Fangshi.”
“He’s a good child. He’s just…”
She hesitated for a long time.
“Just a little easily jealous.”
I blinked.
Was that what this was?
Fortunately, apart from that, Felix had no other abnormalities.
He was also an excellent cook.
In just one month, he fed me three or four pounds heavier.
After he learned my book had ended and I had not started a new one, he wagged his invisible tail and asked me to pick him up from class at Y University.
I chose a seat in the last row.
On the podium, Felix looked nothing like the clingy creature at home.
Cold.
Professional.
Calm.
I was amazed.
He also gave me inspiration for a new book.
So while he lectured above, I wrote below.
I did not know what his students gained after one class.
But I gained three full pages of novel notes.
I packed up and nearly walked away out of habit.
After two steps, I remembered why I had come.
When I looked up, Felix was staring at me with puppy eyes.
Obvious SOS.
“Classmate, if you also want to ask Professor Cheng a question, please line up.”
Before I could approach, I was blocked.
It seemed to be the friend of the pretty girl currently surrounding Felix.
“Professor Cheng, there are still many parts I don’t understand. Can I have your contact information? It would be convenient to ask you later.”
“Sorry,” Felix said. “My phone is with my wife.”
The entire lecture hall went silent.
“Professor Cheng, you’re joking, right?”
“I’m serious.”
He pointed at me.
“My wife came to pick me up after class. Goodbye, classmate.”
Under the murderous stares of every girl in the room, I walked to Felix’s side.
Wow.
The girl was beautiful.
My eyes uncontrollably paused on her face.
Campus belle?
“Wife, why are you staring at her?”
A deeply resentful voice sounded beside my ear.
“Is she pretty?”
Before I could finish appreciating, Felix cut between us.
Nearly 190 centimeters tall, he blocked the campus belle completely.
“Tell me.”
“Is she prettier, or am I prettier?”
Without hesitation, I said,
“You. You. You’re the prettiest.”
Felix repeatedly confirmed,
“Really?”
His eyes even reddened.
“Before marriage, you told me I was the best-looking person in the world.”
“You said you only loved me and would never look at anyone else, man or woman.”
“After marriage, you changed.”
“Wife, are you starting to dislike me?”
I panicked.
Before his cold-professor persona collapsed completely, I dragged him away.
